New Year Reflections. Fashion Cares When You Do

It is a New Year! And yes it happens every year and it is a good thing. We are given this chance to rest and renew ourselves, our lives, our choices… How did it go for you?

For the holidays, I went home (Dubai and Kerala) and briefly to Mumbai (way too briefly) to meet my dearest co-founder Smita. I slept a great deal, caught up with some splendid people, read a few good books, watched some amazing movies(!!!), spent my birthday with the people I loved… It has only been a few days since I got back. For a few days after I got back, I felt disoriented and split between continents. You know the feeling?

For me this year is about getting back to Yoga and conscious eating! Just as it is about being more bold than I have been with DFYNorm. And getting more deeply into the heart of it.

Check out Elvis & Kresse bags in our store- They make amazing luxury bags which are extremely durable and low-maintenance  from reclaimed fire hoses and parachute silk lining. They beat leather bags any day. I got one and it smells heavenly.

Making fashion meaningful and sustainable is at the heart of what we do.  Bringing this mission alive through interesting projects and collaborations is the next leg of our journey here. We would lovve for you to sign up with us and participate with us as we go along.

We are bringing some amazing stylists on board to work directly with our customers and help them get more out of their purchases.

We are also conducting some fun events this year.

Spreading awareness about the importance of sustainability in fashion, the second most polluting industry on the planet after Oil & Gas, is very high on our agenda.

If anyone has any doubts about the impact our unconscious purchase behaviors have on the habitability of our planet, you only have to look at one fact: 2014 and 2015 were consecutively record breaking years in terms of the rise in global temperatures.

When are you going to make a stand on how you consume fashion?  The true power lies in the hands of consumers. You and I, when we choose differently, we force fashion to care.
